Minimum Charge – Quick Decision Reference (Internal Use)

Standard Minimum

  • $125 minimum charge applies by default to all service calls.

This covers travel, setup, tools, scheduling impact, and time.

Courtesy Minimum for Regular Clients (Exception)

A 1-hour minimum ($70) may be applied only if ALL of the following are true:

Client qualifies as a regular

  • 3 or more service visits within the last 12 months
    OR

  • One substantial prior job ($500–$1,000+) with an established, positive relationship

Job qualifies

  • Clearly under 1 hour

  • Low risk / routine work

  • No unknowns, troubleshooting, or “we’ll see when you get here”

Logistics qualify

  • Within ~5 minutes / essentially on route

  • Does not disrupt the day or create schedule gaps

  • Can be slotted in without affecting other jobs

Automatic Reversion to $125 Minimum

If any of the following apply, the minimum is $125, no exceptions:

  • New or infrequent client

  • Job scope is unclear or could expand

  • Requires diagnosis, decision-making, or contingency work

  • Special tools, materials pickup, or extra setup

  • Out of the way or standalone trip

  • Late-day squeeze, after-hours, or time-sensitive stop

Non-Negotiables

  • No prorating for short time on site

  • No discounts just because the client is friendly

  • Encourage bundling small tasks into one visit when possible

  • When in doubt → default to $125 minimum

One-Line Rule

“$125 minimum unless this is a true regular, a quick fix, and a convenient stop — then a 1-hour minimum applies.”
