Cartridge Replacement Disclaimer
Many kitchen and bathroom faucets use threaded retaining nuts (“bonnets”) to secure the internal cartridge. Over time, exposure to hard water, mineral buildup, corrosion, and age can cause these parts to become seized or bonded to the faucet body. In these cases, the retaining nut cannot be removed without applying excessive force that may dent, deform, or permanently damage the faucet.
During a cartridge replacement service, Will’s Dad will make every reasonable effort to remove the retaining nut using industry-standard methods that avoid damage. However, due to hard water conditions and age-related deterioration, some faucets cannot be serviced without damaging the bonnet or the faucet body.
If the retaining nut or internal components are found to be seized, stripped, or non-removable:
The faucet may be deemed non-serviceable,
The existing cartridge may not be replaceable, and
A full faucet replacement may be required.
If damage occurs to the bonnet during safe and reasonable attempts at removal, this is considered a pre-existing hard-water or corrosion issue, not workmanship. In these cases, the customer is responsible for the cost of a new faucet, along with standard installation charges.
